A path through the frame
The waterways in this image make an intricate drawing. Broad pools and narrow channels sit beside one another, changing the pace at which we look. The empty spaces between them are as interesting as the lines themselves.

Try tracing the edges of the land instead of the water. A second composition appears. What seemed to be a background becomes the subject, and familiar shapes begin to feel new.
Looking from above
USGS describes Lake Carnegie as a lake that fills after significant rainfall and becomes marshy in dry years. This Landsat 7 image offers a view of its changing shapes. Its processed colours are part of the satellite image, not a record of the artist’s work.
